Wincanton Town Council recently filled a vacancy, welcoming Councillor Tom Power, but as that was happening, a second vacancy came about as a result of the unrelated resignation of Councillor Mark Cook. Application forms are available now!

Many town centre residents received a leaflet with the headline, "SSDC PLANS TO SELL OFF CHURCHFIELD CARPARK". Such an idea struck me as barking mad so along with about forty others I turned up at the SSDC meeting on 12th February to object.

Wincanton's car parks will remain free at the point of use after the Town Council voted overwhelmingly to honour the result of the town-wide survey it undertook during the week leading up to the 18th October.
