Sometimes men’s sheds provide a great space for men to get together, doing and making something practical and finding companionship. Wincanton Shed is based at the Balsam Centre and meets several times per week.

Whispering Willows is a non-verbal piece of theatre using music and puppetry, created especially for the people of Somerset, and all ages. It's an original story told through the eyes of a willow farming family, against the backdrop of World War II, with performances in Wincanton this Saturday!

Homeowners in Wincanton will soon have access to some of the quickest broadband speeds in the UK thanks to Gigaclear, which has started work connecting the Town to its ultrafast, full-fibre broadband network.

SSDC has opened three dedicated employment and skills hubs that offer free tailored support to all South Somerset residents aged 16+. Known as ‘Opportunities Hubs’ they are based in Chard and Yeovil Libraries and Wincanton’s Balsam Centre.
