Wincanton's Christmas 2021 lantern parade was the biggest ever
Wincanton's Market Place Christmas tree lights were switched on at the ceremony on Saturday, 4th December 2021, which immediately followed the Town's biggest lantern parade since the event was introduced six years ago.

Wincanton's 2016 Christmas Lantern Parade will be on Saturday 19th November, despite this year's Extravaganza having been cancelled. The parade will coincide with the Town Council’s annual ceremony to switch on the town Christmas tree lights. There'll also be a lantern competition!
This Year's Over-70s Christmas Lunch Will Be On Sunday 4th December
Former town Mayor Colin Winder and Wincanton Town Council are now preparing for the annual Over-70’s Christmas Lunch. This year’s event takes place on Sunday 4th December in the Memorial Hall.

Sunday 6th December saw around eighty Wincanton senior citizens enjoying a traditional Christmas dinner and a concert by the Pilgrim Singers in the Memorial Hall, Wincanton.
Wincanton Christmas Extravaganza Pulls the Crowds Again
This year’s well attended Christmas Extravaganza featured many of the old favourites, including Santa’s Grotto, carols around the Christmas tree and jazz music in The Dolphin’s courtyard, as well as some new events, such as a lantern parade.

The shops are decorated and full of Christmas stock; choirs up and down the land are practicing their music. We can safely say that Christmas is coming soon, and so is the Wincanton Christmas Extravaganza.

Join Christmas fun at the Memorial Hall on Saturday 28th November for the Family Christmas Quiz Fundraiser held by Westhill Nursery. Everybody is welcome! Help us raise money towards a new climbing frame and outdoor play equipment for the Nursery.
Switching On the Christmas Tree Lights
This Saturday, 14th, at 6:30pm the lights on the Christmas tree at Market Place will be switched on as part of a ceremony lead by Mayor Colin Winder. There will hopefully also be some carol singing around the tree.
