Wincanton Seniors Christmas Lunch

Every year for some time now the Town Council has funded a Christmas dinner for senior Wincantonians in the Memorial Hall. Organised by Colin Winder, Murial Cairns and a large team of other helpers, including the Co-operative who provided the wine and volunteer members of their staff to serve it, this was a most enjoyable and sociable occasion.

The meal consisted of a full roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings, which everyone declared to be excellent, followed by Christmas pudding and cream.

Towards the end of the meal Jane Fenton and the Pilgrims Choir appeared on the stage to render some original and traditional versions of several carols. These were beautifully sung and towards the end everyone present joined in with a powerful rendition of Hark the Heral Angels Sing. It was a great community event.
