A former convenience store owner and the oldest resident at a Wincanton nursing home is celebrating after reaching her 103rd birthday. Beatrice McWean celebrated the milestone with friends and family at a party last week laid on by staff at the Elroi Manor nursing home on West Hill. A nephew even flew in from Canada to deliver a birthday card in person.
Dentist Is All Smiles After Awards Nod
A dentist form Wincanton has been rewarded for gambling on a career switch by being nominated for seven national awards. Mr. Hawkins' practice has been operating since 2006 and is in line for Best Private Practice, Best Patient Care, Best Dental Team, Most Innovative Practice and two more minor categories.
