Wincanton Amateur Dramatic Society presents Treasure Island at Wincanton Memorial Hall

Ahoy there me hearties! It’s panto time again. This year, WADS is putting on a production of Treasure Island. It’s hard to believe there's only six days until opening night. It only seems like yesterday we were turning up for our first rehearsal.

Our script is written by Ben Crocker, and the show is directed by Jayne Bentley and Cara Bentley. We will be taking you on the adventures of Long John Silver and his pirates as they pay a visit to the Smugglers Cove WI, manage to acquire a boat, and navigate the dangerous waters of the Caribbean Sea, all to get their hands on the treasure. We have lots of singing, dancing, and general panto comedy and mayhem.

Jonathon Markendale as Long John SilverWe have a brilliant cast. Jonathon Markendale is playing the lead role of Long John Silver, and his gang of pirates is played by Gina Pike, Paul Adams, James Adams, Romhana Mitchell and Codi Benson. Our Principle Boy and Girl are played by Amanda Graffham and Georgina Isaacs. The Smugglers Cove WI is led by Clare Barker, with her ladies Dawn Henson, Dani Wood, Maggie Benson, Claire Day, Hannah Cockerall, Siobhan Domoney and Bethanie Wylie. The dame is played by Mike Benson, while Dave Ward is in the shoes of Squire Trelawny. William Adams is playing the role of Ben Gunn, the Photographer, Gracie Leydon is Kittie, and no pirate panto would be complete without a parrot, so Emily Mitchell will be playing the role of Polly.

Treasure Island will be at Wincanton Memorial Hall (BA9 9JF) on Thursday 20th, Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd February at 7:30pm, with a matinee performance on Saturday at 2pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and £6 for concessions and can be purchased at Floralistic or the Town Hall. Alternatively, you can call our box office on 07807 331750.
