Road Closures for Wincanton Carnival this Friday
The 2016 Wincanton Carnival is less than a week away, and everything is gradually falling into place. For the safety of both the spectators and carnival entrants the Carnival committee has announced some typical road closures. Here's a full list, and a map of the procession for anyone who might need to plan ahead.
Combat Stress Families and Armed Forces Race Day
The second Combat Stress Families and Armed Forces Race Day will be held at Wincanton Racecourse on Sunday 23rd October 2016. It'll be half term and families will enjoy an action packed day of top class jump racing and plenty of entertainment.
Bonhams Auctioneers to Hold Charity Valuation Day for Bayford Chapel
To help finance the building and conversion work on Bayford Chapel, Bonhams the international auctioneers will beholding a charity valuation day in Wincanton Memorial Hall on 12th October between 10.00am and 3.00pm.

Wincanton Flower Show 2016
Wincanton & District Gardeners Association held its 61st Annual Flower Show on Saturday 3rd September in the Memorial Hall. There was a high standard of entries and keen competition across all classes, including flowers and vegetabes as well as home and handicrafts.

Peter Fitzgerald has just had published his book on Nathaniel Ireson the architect, master builder and potter of 18th century Wincanton and on Friday 23rd of September he will be giving a talk on Ireson to the Museum and History Society in the Memorial Hall at 7.30pm.
Join the World's Biggest Coffee Morning Event at Wincanton Baptist Church
Wincanton Baptist Church will be holding a Macmillan Cancer Care coffee morning on Thursday 22nd September. The event runs between 10:30am and 12:00 noon, when visitors can relax over a nice cuppa, suitably balanced by a yummy home-made cake, or two.
