My exhibition will be held at 2 The Old Police Station, North Street, Wincanton, BA9 9AZ from Saturday 17th September to Sunday 2nd October 2016 – Times/Days Open: 11.00am – 6.00pm Thursday/Friday/Saturday and Sunday.

I will be showing my latest work, an eclectic mix of vibrant gouache and pastel paintings, which have been inspired by my recent visit to Bhutan, the tiny Himalayan ‘Mountain Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon’, and to the splendid location of Yunnan Province, Southern China.

I paint to explore the relationship, and play of energy, between organic landscape and structure, the duality of line and form. I have drawn my inspiration from the space and stillness of the majestic Himalayan Mountains, and the flowing liquid patterns of the terraced rice fields of Yunnan Province.

My paintings are the result of exploration and observation of the time lines etched on an organic landscape, eroded by the elements. I have explored the relationship between self and observation of the natural world, during my travels to remote and spiritual locations.

My work has also been inspired by Zen Buddhist meditation and calligraphy, using the outward breath to draw free-flowing lines, and is my interpretation of a timeless place.
