Wincanton Choral Society logoWincanton Choral Society has their Winter Concert on Sunday 9th December at 7.30pm at Wincanton Sports Centre, West Hill.

The conductor is Simon Twiselton. The accompaniment will be Piano played by Jacquelyn Bevan, and String Quintet with Edward Burns 1st Violin, Jane Margeson 2nd Violin, Richard Willetts Viola, Michael Moorsom Violoncello and Keith Wood Double Bass.

Opening the concert will be Vivaldi's Gloria followed in contrast by the more peaceful and beautifully melodic Cantique de Jean Racine by Faure.

There will be three pieces from Vaughan Williams lively Cantata for Mixed Voices. "In Windsor Forest" follows the interval. There will be familiar Christmas carols for choir and audience.

We are also very happy to have the soloists Maria Marton, Soprano and Sarah Pottinger, Mezzo Soprano singing for our delight.
