"Reign Over Me" - Wincanton Film Society's Next Film

Wednesday 18 April 2012, 16:33
By John Smith

Reign Over Me movie posterSandler, well known for his comic/slapstick roles changes totally and takes on a very serious role. He plays a husband who has lost his family in the September 11th tragedy in New York. Everything he ever loved had been ripped out of his life. He plays a man whose life is full of just existing day by day with no meaning, and no point.

Sandler is well balanced by his co-star Don Cheadle, who plays his former college roommate and from whom he has long since lost touch.

By pure chance Cheadle sees Sandler riding a motorised scooter around the city and eventually makes contact. What follows is a fascinating rebuilding of both a life and friendship. Don't come looking for a great or amazing ending or a great hero. Come and enjoy a film that shows us that there is always hope whatever the circumstances.

Because of my back problems the chances are that I won't be at the screening as I couldn't sit down for more than five minutes at a time, so I had a sneak screening at home. I believe that this is a film not to be missed. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Come and join us on Wednesday 25th April 2012 at King Arthurs in the Performance Centre accessed from the rear car park.

Doors open from 7.00pm for refreshments and chat. The film starts 7:45pm and everyone is welcome.

Price on the door: £5.00
Concessions: £4.00
