Wincanton's local election results are now in, for both the Town Council and the new unitary Somerset Council. Congratulations to all those elected, and a little extra this year to Sam Atherton who led the pack.

On the cold, wet and miserable morning of Friday 11th March, several groups of remarkably resilient school and nursery children from Wincanton helped plant trees with Wincanton Town Council in conjunction with the Queen's Green Canopy initiative.

The Wincanton Live at Home scheme began in 1997 and now supports around 170 local residents with an average age of 88, providing an invaluable safety net for the vulnerable during lockdown, with unstinting support from about 40 volunteers.

Wincanton Primary School pupils visit the Town Hall
Wincanton Primary School pupils visited the Town Hall on the 26th February, to hear about the role their Town Council plays for residents and, most importantly, for the children of our town. They even made a few suggestions of their own!
A vacancy on, a farewell from and a welcome to Wincanton Town Council
