In these very uncertain times, I want to acknowledge and celebrate the way our town has responded to the current situation, with generous, supportive help of all kinds during the last few weeks. So many stories of cheerful and unstinting efforts, from those who deliver food and prescriptions, the team at Live at Home, the Balsam Centre, and volunteers who have been supporting the vulnerable, elderly and those in self-isolation.

In the coming weeks I will be sharing some of these good news stories in recognition of the strong community spirit that has come to the fore at this time. When the time is right we will come together with a picnic in the park as suggested by residents to celebrate all the positives that have emerged and recognise the impact of coronavirus on all ages and our community.

My heartfelt thanks for now, and I look forward to better times.

Keep well.

Sue

Cllr Shelbourn-Barrow
