The Third Man - One of the Great Classic Films

Sunday 17 March 2013, 17:36
By John Smith

The Third ManOn Tuesday 19th March Wincanton Film Society screens its annual Classic Movie - "The Third Man", starring Orson Wells, Joseph Cotton, and Trevor Howard. Directed by Carol Reed, this film brings suspense, nostalgia and great acting from classic actors.

Films like this one come to the screen without all the benefits of CGI and modern technology. In those days, the difference between great actors and wannabes was clear and simple: "talent".

It may be in black and white, but we are guaranteed a great evening of quality entertainment.

The committee and members of Wincanton Film Society invite you to join us for this amazing film. Maybe you haven't visited Wincanton Film Society (WFS) yet. Why not try us out?

Come and experience our great venue at King Arthur's Performance Centre. Experience our big 14' screen and our great sound system. Depending on the individual film we have surround sound, but of course this one will only be in stereo. Chat with fellow film lovers about the evening's screening or your other favourite films. For a donation you can enjoy nibbles and refreshments.

Early arrivals at Wincanton Film Society

Then relax in our comfy padded seats to watch "The Third Man". Isn't it annoying when someone who isn't as vertically challenged as you sits right in front of you? Gone are the days. Our seats on risers ensure that we all have a great view of the films.

So take a night off from the TV and come and experience the fun of an evening at Wincanton Film Society.

Please use the car park at the rear of King Arthur's, accessed from Dancing Lane. The entrance is immediately by the car park.
