Spectra Musica Performs "Bach to Broadway"

Spectra Musica will once again be performing a variety of music 'Bach to Broadway' at St Luke and St Teresa's Church in Wincanton on Saturday 23rd March 2013 starting at 7.30pm.

The choir will be singing works by Handel, 5 movements from Bach's Mass in B Minor, Jerome Kern and Loewe and Lerner's 'My Fair Lady Choral Selection' conducted by the esteemed musical director, Simon Twiselton.

The talented Anita D'Attelis will be accompanying together with soloists, Katharine Hawnt (Soprano) and Arabella Heaton (Mezzo-Soprano) who will all be performing pieces of their own.

Anita read music at the University of Birmingham, while studying piano at the Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating with first class honours and winning the Arnold Goldsborough Prize for her final solo recital. She was also awarded the Barber Scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music, where she specialised in accompaniment.

Katharine was a choral scholar at King's College London and then trained at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland. She has studied with Evelyn Tubb, Emma Kirkby, Andreas Scholl and Ian Partridge, among others, and now takes lessons from Christopher Johnson and Melanie Armitstead.

Arabella trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and then at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama on the postgraduate opera course. She made her debut at Grange Park Opera singing Barbarina in Figaro's Wedding which she also sang for Pimlico Opera.
