Tamsyn Gregory is a textile artist who will run a clothing embellishment workshop in Wincanton

Join textile artist Tamsyn Gregory for a free ‘drop in’ workshop where you will be inspired to recycle, refashion and re-love your clothing. On Saturday 13th July, 10am-4pm in Shop at No.4, Market Place, Wincanton.

Re-fashionista Tamsyn will be demonstrating ways to create a fresh look from the things you already have, creating new outfits from unloved clothing. She will be sharing ideas for creating a gorgeous new style that is unique to you.

Bring along a piece of clothing you’ve fallen out of love with. You’ll be able to add sparkle by embellishing it with pre-loved and broken jewellery, embroider some colour using vibrant threads or stitch on patches of beautiful vintage and modern fabrics. There’ll also be a few crochet hearts and flowers, along with buttons, beads and ribbons to help reinvent your item.

Tamsyn is a local textile artist who is constantly experimenting with knitting, crochet, embroidery and weaving on large art pieces, using mainly upcycled materials. Her work has been exhibited across the West Country and as part of Somerset Arts Week. Tamsyn’s range of upcycled textile jewellery and bag charms are currently available at Shop at No.4 where she works alongside Lynne Franks managing the shop.

This workshop is among many other events that have been organised for this Saturday, several of which will happen monthy, coinciding with the upcoming craft market scheduled to begin in September.

The SEED Café, next door to No.4, will be hosting Psychic Saturday; a fun day of tarot reading and healthy eating, Bootmakers will be starting a new women's clothing swap-shop and Wincanton Fruit & Veg will be hosting a foragers market to allow local people to trade home produce.
