A Georgian Singing Extravaganza with Spectra Musica
Come and enjoy singing a veritable feast of music on 11th February. The Georgian Extravaganza will feature Israel in Egypt plus Handel’s Coronation Anthem No.2 – ‘The King Shall Rejoice’, an anthem by William Boyce – ‘O where shall wisdom be found’ and Thomas Linley Junior – ‘Let God Arise’.
You will thoroughly enjoy singing with lively Musical Director Peter Leech, who has such an enthusiastic approach and incredible knowledge of music. For those who have not attended a Spectra Musica singing day, we provide all the music needed for the day but you do not necessarily need to know the pieces – Peter is an excellent tutor! Obviously some musical knowledge is required and all the works will be in four parts. We also receive tremendous support from our concert pianist accompanist, Anita D’Attellis.
On making an application you will be sent detailed information about the day, the venue, the location and the Musical Director. The facilities at Cheap Street Church are first class, with a spacious hall where we serve tea and coffee and where you may eat lunch if you bring any.
You may invite guests to the informal concert at 4.30pm for no extra charge.
I do hope you will be able to join us in Sherborne and you may be inspired to audition for the group.
