WFS Begins Movies at The Bear with Arthur Christmas on Saturday 4th

Arthur Christmas, showing at The Bear Inn, Wincanton, Saturday 4th January 2014

For 10 years Wincanton Film Society (WFS) has screened films of all genres from their home base at King Arthur's. They progressed from being a private society to allowing everyone to pay at the door or buy a season ticket for ten films. This bold initiative kept the big screen in Wincanton.

For 2014 Wincanton Film Society is starting a new initiative. Working with The Bear Inn, Wincanton they will screen films monthly in The Sweetman Hall. This is an entirely separate programme to the one in King Arthur's, which continues as normal.

The WFS committee believes 'Movies at The Bear' will attract a different audience. It is structured to allow booking of films as soon as they are released to DVD, and films will be chosen each month and announced at each screening, rather then booking an entire year's programme in advance.

The ball starts rolling on Saturday 4th January with a special family matinee film, "Arthur Christmas". This is a great way to bring the Christmas and New Year festivities to a close before we all get back to school/work on Monday. Doors will open at 2.30pm with the film starting at 3.00pm. Pay at the door. Adults £5, children £3.

If you miss this film check the Wincanton Film Society website for information about future Movies at The Bear. With the exception of special family matinee movies, all movies will be screened on a midweek evening in The Sweetman Hall at The Bear Inn, Wincanton. For further information contact us at .
