Make a note in your diary for Saturday 27th July, 11am till midnight: the first ever Henstridge Summer Festival!

The festival will fill the recreation ground and central to it is an outside arena with a dance tent and a live music stage. Of course, Somerset plays host to many wonderful fetes and festivals throughout the summer but Henstridge is offering a pretty unique event. So what makes this event so different from others?

Well topping the bill has to be Jack Clarke BMX star who is representing GB in the Olympic Games in 2020! Jack will be with us all day along with Daryl Dominguez GB international skateboarding star, giving us demos to music and FREE workshops all day! We can hardly believe that this duo is coming to skate and ride on our very own skate park!

We'll have DJ lessons for teenagers (and adults) who would like a go at spinning some tunes courtesy of Sanktum Soundsystem from Stalbridge who will also be offering a children's disco and giant jukebox, and seeing the evening out with uplifting house and club classics.

There will be several live bands playing and an open-mic stage for anyone who wants to come along and have a go! A wonderful children's area with circus skills, bouncy fun, a giant dressing up box, face painting, henna tattoos and hair braiding and so much more.

Choose from two bars, a variety of foods, over 30 stalls, retro games, the vintage tea party, walkabout acts, The Kennel Club Dog Show, dog agility, a Serenity & Wellness area and there'll even be a bike to peddle-charge your phone!

This new event is the brainchild of Jane Rose who has lived in the village for 22 years and is heading up a team of dedicated locals committed to putting on an event that will really get folk rocking!

Jane is a holistic therapist and runs the clinic 'Elemi' in the village and is also one of the Parish Councillors. The festival is a result of an ongoing heartfelt wish to bring folk together, whatever age and across a wide variety of interests - something for everyone - so needed in the present climate.

Please come and join us for some fun and games, dancing and laughing!
