Route 60 Plus Road Show for Older Drivers

Route Sixty Plus is a presentation aimed at older drivers to enable them to continue with their driving career safely and for longer with our help.

Our road show will be staged at Wincanton Memorial Hall on Wednesday 11th January 2012 by expert staff from Somerset Road Safety, Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service and the Police. The road show runs from 10.00am to 1.00pm.

The Route Sixty Plus presentation will cover issues such as driving licences, changes in the highway code, effects of medication, safer driving at night, and advice on vehicle improvements. We also offer a FREE drivers eyesight test using special equipment.

People attending will be able to obtain helpful information about home fire safety visits, mobility driving aids, crime prevention advice, blood pressure check and details of a FREE first aid course (BHF Heartstart). They will also be invited to have a FREE one hour driving refresher with an approved driving instructor at a time and location that is suitable for them.

All drivers who attend will be given a FREE information pack including a copy of the latest highway code, small torch and a hi-vis jacket for use if they should be so unfortunate as to breakdown.
