Will serving up the ale at the Nog InnWilliam and I were delighted to receive the news this week that we have made it in to the Good Beer Guide 2011. This is the culmination of much hard work on Will's part to source different ales and then keep them in tip top condition. At the present time the standard session ales are Otter Bitter (ABV 3.6 %) and Sharp's Own (ABV 4 %) plus one guest ale, currently Cotleigh "New Harvest" (ABV 4%). The guest ale allows us to try to source some unusual ales which our regulars are always willing to try!

The Good Beer Guide has been going for 38 years now and underlines the Campaign for Real Ale's work by championing real ale pubs. In addition to offering a wide cross-section of pubs in all parts of the country, it also contains details of every brewery in the country together with details of their beers and future plans.

While ale is a very important part of our business, we also like to offer something for those that want to try something different. Our standard lager is Kaltenberg Hell, brewed to strict German purity laws, and our premium lager is Staropramen which is imported from the brewery in Prague. We also have a guest beer on offer. At the moment we have Cruz Campo imported from Spain, and frequently have Belgian beers and less well known brands for our customers to try.
