Five Counties Real Ale and Cider Festival
The Five Counties Real Ale and Real Cider Fest starts Friday 24th August until Sunday 26th August 2012 at The Unicorn Inn at Bayford.
We begin our journey at the St Austell Brewery with a "Proper Job" before moving to Dartmoor Brewery for a "Jail Ale". After breaking out of Jail we continue Eastward with a "Hop, Skip and Pump" from the Exe Valley Brewery.
Next, after a little light relief, we go for a Piddle Brewery, "Jimmy Riddle" . We now move inland through moonraker country to where the "Sheep Dip" and the "Pigs Swill" Plain Ales and Stonehenge Ales respectively. Almost home we sample "Pitchfork" from North Somerset by RCH Brewery before completing our tour at Cottage Brewery with a refreshing pint of "Champflower". On the bar are three guest ales.
Once we have recovered our breathe we begin our Cider quest with "Lawrence" Cider from Corton Denham In a traditional wooden barrel. "Parsons Choice" from Taunton Cider is next.
We move to Wilkins Cider Farm at Wedmore with a pair of Farmhouse Ciders, medium and medium dry. Then it's Hecks of Street, infamous "Kingston Black" single variety Cider.
