Visitors can experience the joy of Bell ringing, discuss with Ringers how to get started, understand the background to Change ringing, and also watch demonstrations of Change ringing.

There will be an information area, and refreshments will be available.

Tower Captain Janet Lowe said: "Ringing is steeped in history, yet offers everyone so much in today's modern world. Apart from the ringing on Sunday morning we can offer some exercise, both physical and mental, great team work and a wonderful social life. This event is about showing as many people as possible that we have something to offer, whatever your need and interest."

Branch Education Officer Anna Piechna said: "We have set up this recruitment week throughout the whole of the Bath and Wells Diocese to show everyone just how interesting and enjoyable bell ringing is. Towers are open from Bath to Yeovil and Frome to Dunster to give a first hand opportunity to those who might have an idle curiosity or have heard from friends and family and want to hear more about it. The serious aim is to attract more ringers, but we also want to increase the knowledge of as many people as possible about the history and enjoyment this pastime can bring."
