The Listening Ear sign as seen from outside the Baptist Church gateFour years ago I went on a six week course run by St Margaret’s Hospice in Yeovil, on listening to and supporting those who have been bereaved.

After the course I started, with a group of friends, a coffee morning in the hall at the Baptist Church in Mill Street.

Three years on these mornings have developed into friendship mornings. Anyone can come in and will find we are a very welcoming group of people.

The group in full swingThere is a lot of chatter and laughter and much eating of cakes and drinking of coffee and tea.

A mountain of cakesNo charge is made but if anyone wants to make a donation the money is given to charity.

At the moment we are giving money to Rachel and Paul Elliston, who work with the Children's Trust in Peru.

So, if you have a sweet tooth and would like to come just drop in any time between 1030. and 12.00 on the first and third Thursday of each month.

We look forward to meeting you.
