On Saturday 18th July, from 2.00pm to 5.00pm, Somerset & Dorset Animal Rescue is holding a Cream Tea afternoon at the animal shelter site to raise money for the many animals we look after at the shelter.

The volunteers who regularly work at the animal shelter will be dressed as waiters and waitresses serving cakes and teas. Soft cold drinks will also be available.

We will have many stalls including bottle tombola, a raffle stall, Guess the Number of Sweets in a Jar and many more. We will also have live music through the event by Denise Rhodes, so book the day off and join us for an enjoyable afternoon.

To find us, turn into Common Road, Wincanton, and follow the signs after the bridge.

We currently have 6 different sections to the animal shelter and many are fit to burst. Somerset and Dorset Animal Rescue is a non wage, non profit organisation, which means all of the hard working people of the shelter are volunteers taking time from their days to be there for the animals. All the donated money goes towards the vet bills and treatments and the upkeep of the shelter to provide a safe and warm home for the animals.

We are also holding a monthly raffle starting this month. Tickets can be bought from Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Wincanton High Street and cost £1 per strip. The prize for June is a nice hamper, including two bottles of wine, coffee, Pringles, a box of chocolates, apple chutney and a box of nuts.
