By Gill D'Arcy

Sponsored Knit groupAs part of the on going requirement to raise funds in order to meet the annual running costs of St. Peter and St Paul's Church, regular monthly coffee mornings are held in the Memorial Hall Sun Lounge Wincanton.

Most of these are held on the second Saturday of each month, from 10.00am to 12.00pm, with the exception of, in this years programme, the month of May which will be held on the 1st Saturday.

We always welcome new and regular supporters to come along and enjoy a couple of hours at this social event accompanied with a coffee. Every month a raffle is held in support of fundraising.

Some months include topical additions which are advertised nearer the time, so watch this space or see Wincanton Window's Diary for further details.

A sponsored knit is being held, in conjunction with the monthly coffee morning, in support of the Parish Church of St Peter & St Paul Wincanton. This will take place in the Memorial Hall Sun Lounge Wincanton on Saturday 10th March at 10am. Those taking part will be knitting baby bonnets, booties & mittens.

This will be a double charity event as not only will it raise funds for the Parish Church, all knitted items will be donated to Yeovil Hospital baby unit.

All are welcome to come along and take part and enjoy a coffee at the same time, or simply come to support those taking part and enjoy a coffee. If you would like to take part sponsorship forms are available from the Parish Church or Parish Office.

We look forward to you joining us.

Dear Ladies,
I recently attended a similar event here in Kassel where I live. The local ladies had added wrist warmers and colouful crochet hats to the standards and my teenage kids were remarkably pleased when I came home with warm woollies for them and their girlies. One of my favourite knitting links is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hocTbE5f0uY&feature=youtu.be
Good luck with your event on Saturday
Best wishes
