Coast to Coast Walk to Help Rebuild Typhoon-Ravaged Balud

By Jonathan Astill

I have family that live in the small village of Balud in the Philippines. On 8th November 2013, Typhoon Hainan (Yolanda) hit the eastern coast of the Phillipines. The winds were the highest ever recorded over land. The 40,000-strong population of Guiuan was destroyed along with hundreds of villages.

Balud was one of those villages.

As treasurer and a trustee to the charitable organisation 'Rebuild Balud' I shall be walking with my friend Simon Lynch, from coast-to-coast across Devon via the Two Moors Way (c.115 miles) in early June to raise funds in aid of rebuilding their village and livelihood.

Please take a look at the flyer below, the website www.rebuildbalud.org and feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested in supporting our cause. Any donations will be very gratefully received.
