Wincanton Baptist Church coffee morning raises more money for Macmillan
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is an annual event in every community calendar, in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. The official event date is 29th September, but local events get rolling from early September through into October.
Wincanton Baptist Church is just one of many local groups that dedicate one of their monthly coffee mornings each year to the Macmillan cause. This year, on 21st September, the event ran from 10:30am to 12 noon.
Visitors enjoyed a relaxing time together with the added benefit of coffee, homemade cakes, jams, and marmalades. In addition, for this event there was a selection of homemade greetings cards on sale.
An extremely wide age range was represented, from baby Merrin, only three weeks old, to John at 98 years young.
The event raised a total of £130 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The folks at the Wincanton Baptist Church run their regular coffee morning, complete with homemade goodies, on the third Thursday of each month. The next will be tomorrow, 19th October, and a warm welcome is extended to all.
