A New Look to Listening Ear Coffee Mornings This Autumn

By Joyce Page

CupcakesFive years ago a coffee morning was started in the hall at Wincanton Baptist Church. The mornings were called the Listening Ear Coffee Mornings, and over the years trained listeners have been available to anyone suffering loss of any kind, or for anyone who wanted someone to listen to them.

These have developed into friendship mornings and amongst our regulars are a group of retired men, who look forward to each other's company and the homemade cakes!

The future coffee morning dates will be on the first Thursday of each month.

In September we are introducing the idea of having a Bring and Swap table.

September 6th Bring and Swap table. Bring any books, CDs and DVDs and swap for others. No money involved.
October 4th World's Biggest Coffee Morning, raising money to give to Macmillan nurses. More details to follow.
November 1st A craft morning for those who would like to try something new.
December 6th A Christmas theme.

As someone whose husband has been ill for the past year I appreciate now what it means to be a carer. If you are caring for someone do come and meet us and have a time where we will care for you.

These mornings are open to all, whatever your age. We look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Venue: Wincanton Baptist Church Hall, top end of Mill Street.
Time: Drop in between 10.30 and 12.00 or come for the whole time.
