Wincanton Rugby Club in practise

At the heart of every town should be a good rugby club, and Wincanton is not any different!

Pre-season training for Wincanton has already kicked off and they are determined that their level of fitness this year will be at a peak by the time they make their debut in their new league.

Wincanton Rugby Club is now training and playing matches at Wincanton Sports Centre and for after match entertainment they are based at The Nog. They are a friendly and sociable team with a good mix of players and supporters, young and old. The club openly welcomes players of all abilities, from those who have been playing for years to complete beginners.

Wincanton Rugby Club in practiseWincanton believe that the game is for everyone and is as much about the social side as it is about what happens on pitch. They are described by away teams as a very friendly bunch with a good social calendar and a healthy gathering of supporters too.

The club training night is Tuesday, starting at 7.00pm, where they do fitness training as well as match training. Then they retire back to The Nog for a drink. For more details please either contact our Captain, Keith Lavelle on 07711 350124 or our Vice-Captain Mike on 07775 329388 or find us on Facebook. Alternatively you can just turn up and train.
