Celebrate with Wincanton Rugby Club at their first game on their new Sports Ground pitch
After what seems like forever, I am so happy to announce that on Saturday 2nd October Wincanton Rugby will be playing our first match on our new pitch at Wincanton Sports Ground.
I would like to invite you all to come along and see what it is we have done with the monies raised from our crowdfunder campaign so far, and find out about our next steps and what we are hoping to achieve in the next 12 months.
Before the game there will be a short talk, and a presentation of the John Bastable Memorial Shield, for dedication to Wincanton Rugby. This is a new award in memory of our ex-Chairman who is unfortunately no longer with us. It will be presented to its first recipient by John's wife, Pauline with support from other members of their family.
Following the game we will be hosting a BBQ and the club house will be open. We hope you will be able to stay around and enjoy some social time. As a small family-type club, we welcome you to bring friends and little ones with you should you wish to enjoy the open space, relax and enjoy the day.
I am also pleased to say we will have some rugby tots action taking place ahead of the game, and appetite dependant, even afterwards so bring the little ones along and get them worn out.
Feel free to arrive at anytime from 13:30 ahead of the 15:00 kick-off. The presentation will commence at 14:45.
