Racing returns to Wincanton Racecourse this Wednesday 9th October; a week earlier than initially planned. Entry is just £10 per person to this additional meeting which was originally allocated to Towcester.

The original fixture was cancelled as a result of the Northamptonshire track falling into financial difficulties and going into administration last year.

“We’re really looking forward to the return of racing, and pleased that we’re able to offer this extra meeting. Everything is looking ship shape and the track is in fantastic order.”

 - General manager Huw Williams

Just over a week later, on 17th October, the course will be welcoming retiring Somerset and England cricketing hero Marcus Trescothic. Its meeting on Sunday 27th October is in support of Combat Stress; a charity created in 1919 to support veterans from every service and conflict. Badger Chase Day on 9th November is pencilled in for the eagerly anticipated return of Present Man who will be bidding to make it three out three in the race.

Gates open this Wednesday at noon, with the first race off at 2:05pm.
