Marvellous March at Wincanton Racecourse

During March Wincanton Racecourse will host three marvellous consumer race days.

Wincanton Racecourse spectatorsThursday, 8th March is FREE ADMISSIONS RACEDAY. In association with Bathwick Tyres, free entry will be granted to every race-goer who registers in advance with a Friday, March 2 deadline. Registration can be done online at www.wincantonracecourse.co.uk or via the Racecourse Office on 01963 32344. Racegoers who fail to register will be charged the standard race-day admission fee starting from £13.

Free admission race day will stage a step by step guide to saddling-up a racehorse, betting advice and a jockeys forum. The aim is to provide a true insight into jump racing while highlighting the demands and duties required when staging a fixture.

To top the free race-day experience, after each race presentation Wincanton race-goers will have the chance to win wide-screen plasma televisions and other electrical goods. Courtesy of Bathwick Tyres, six top electrical gadgets are up for grabs and will be randomly drawn by on-course presenter Luke Harvey throughout the day.

Friday, 9th March takes on LEGENDS OF CHELTENHAM theme - celebrating all aspects of the iconic Festival from horse to human with racing legends Paul Nicholls, Clive Smith and Jim Lewis on the course to discuss their Festival memories. CHILDREN'S DAY on Sunday, 25th March sees the subsequent generation dominate Wincanton Racecourse for the action meeting. Free to all children, the day provides a wide range of youthful activities for all ages, combined with a six-race card. Gates open at Midday and that's when the fun commences with the complimentary children's tour. Pre-registered children will assemble outside the jockey's weighing room for a course tour, followed by the opportunity to meet some of racing's greatest jump jockeys for an interview and autograph session. Children can also take part in the infamous 'Race down the Home Straight' contest and support the 20-strong Mascot Race.
