How 2017 will end for Wincanton Town Football Club

Wincanton Town Football Club players

Hi all and welcome to the second column from me as Wincanton Town F.C. manager with the Wincanton Window.

It hasn't been as positive a period as we’d have liked since I last wrote, having playing four games and not picked up a win during that time; losing one against top-of-the-league Keynsham Town F.C. at home, drawing two games on the bounce 1-1 before losing to Bishop Sutton away on Saturday.

As I write this the league is still very tight. We are currently sat in 14th place but a couple of wins would bounce us straight back into the top four, and this has to be our goal as a squad this season.

We have three big games remaining in 2017, starting with local rivals Chard Town at home on the 23rd December, kicking off at 3pm, and the Boxing Day clash of Sherborne Town away at 11:30am is also one with the feel of a local derby game. We end the year at Chippenham on the 30th.

For the Chard and Sherborne games we would really welcome some big support from the Town. They are two big games for us where we know the opposition will have a decent following. At both games you can pay on the gate, £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.

On behalf of everyone connected with Wincanton Town Football Club I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas, and we hope to see you soon supporting the Wasps in the near future.
