Thursday 12 April 2012, 18:42
By Mandy Forsey

Overnight on Wednesday 28th March and Thursday 29th March 2012 there was a burglary in the area Henstridge Trading Estate area. Numerous high value chainsaws and strimmers were stolen. The make for these items are STIHL, ERBAUER, and HUSQVARJNA. Along with these items there was also some fuel and drill sets stolen. The value of the stolen items is approximately £10,000.

This incident has had a huge affect on the owner and has had a negative effect on the business, and work has had to be cancelled due to not having the tools to carry out the work. This has a knock on effect for the business owner as well as the customers who have had to be cancelled and a new date arranged.

As well as this there is a cost implication for day-to-day finances and this has caused distress to the owners. If you see any of these items for sale at markets or see them for sale at second-hand shops or are offered them by persons please contact the police.

With your help we want to try and stamp out these thefts. This behaviour will not be tolerated and we are hoping for the assistance of the local community. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious at this time.
