Theft of Baby's Wreath at Wincanton Cemetery

Thursday 31 May 2012, 19:00
By John Winfield

Part of Wincanton Cemetery is set aside for the graves of young children. Sometime between the 24th and 26th May a bouquet of white roses were stolen from the grave of a baby. A wreath was also damaged.

PC Andrew Brown says, "This is an appalling crime. So thoughtless and distressing for the family of the baby who had only recently passed away. If anyone can help with information regarding this crime please contact me at Wincanton Police station."

Call Avon & Somerset Constabulary on 101 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. They never ask your name and never trace your call.

This is disgraceful and sad in equal measures. And to the culprit, I have a message - shame on you, you clearly have no soul
