Spring Comes to the Town

It has been a cold winter - often wet with driving rain - so the coming of Spring is something to celebrate. This year the Chapel at Bayford decided to do this by holding a Daffodil Festival and many like Karen Perrett brought arrangements of flowers from their gardens. The little hall was packed with people admiring the blooms, having a chat, tea and cake while children did colouring. Here I also met the new vicar, the Revd Jo Penberthy.

Walking around one sees daffodils everywhere, no place more spectacular than The Avenue off Balsam Fields, where early daffodils covered the verges on both sides of the road.

In the grounds of Wincanton Primary a loan tree has burst into blossom and on paths and hedgerows early flowers are out.

There is something magical and inspiring about Spring and its promise of new life and fresh beginnings. It is an ideal time to go out with your camera to capture the fresh and unexpected. If you come across something you would like to share with us, send it in as a jpeg image.
