King Arthur's Sport College Organises Inter-School Competition

Tuesday 30 November 2010, 12:03
By Jon Hayes

Last week saw a Primary School Sports and Athletics competition for the feeder primary schools of King Arthur's. Not all seven were able to take part, but Wincanton, Milborne Port, Horsington, and Templecombe were there in force. Helping out were volunteer year 10 Sports Leaders. They are doing a Sports Leadership Course which gives them a highly recognised national qualification. Helping in this way develops their skills in organising and encouraging participants and the certificate provides a basis for later further study.

The obvious achievement of this event was the large number of pupils taking an active part. Carefully structured to challenge pupils of all athletic abilities it was inspiring to see just how keen pupils were to take part and compete.
