County Badminton Success for King Arthur's Boys and Girls

By David Dwyer

Neither team lost a game at the County Championships as they set Wells Leisure Centre alight with their enthusiastic and dynamic play.

Both squads train with the County Badminton teams and now hold their breath as they prepare to meet some England players in the next round.

Mr Dwyer, Director of Sport at the school says, "Both these teams have a very good chance of progressing to the National Finals at Centre Parcs, Nottingham, in April."

King Arthurs became a Badminton Academy school six years ago - the first in Somerset and one of a few in the South West - this means it is a centre of excellence for Badminton. They are also a County training cell and provide students for most of the County badminton teams. The school’s biggest success is Stuart Rowlands who is now an England international.
