Join C.A.T.C.H. for a Christmas Litter Pick on Sunday 20th

Picking litter from the banks of the River Cale

What better way to celebrate Christmas this year than to pick other people's grimey rubbish out of a cold, wet river? And to top it off, it's totally FREE.

C.A.T.C.H. invites everyone to join their merry band of volunteers this Sunday, 20th December 2015 to give a little back, and undo some of the damage we do to our local habitat. The team will be picking litter along, and perhaps in the River Cale (weather, and water level dependent) from 10:00am till 12:00 noon.

Everyone, young or old, is most welcome. Bring your whole family! The team only requires that all children be accompanied by an adult. All work is carried out in a safe, friendly and fun atmosphere, and no prior experience is necessary. All you need is suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. C.A.T.C.H. will provide all other equipment including high-vis jackets and litter pickers.

In addition to the warm fuzzies you'll get from knowing you're cleaning up other people's sludge for nothin', there'll be hot drinks and cake afterwards in the David Sharp Centre.

Even if you can't spare the time to help out, feel free to pop down and heckle from a safe distance. Members of the C.A.T.C.H. team will be knocking around to answer questions about their work, past, present and future.

[UPDATE 16-12-2015:] Meeting at the Recreation Ground car park at 10:00am!

[UPDATE 18-12-2015:] Drinks and cake won't be in the David Sharp Centre after all. Subject to weather it might have to be outside, probably near the bridge.

Well that's some top-end journalism. Meeting at the Recreation Ground car park at 10am. There will hopefully be someone in the vicinity for the duration to greet anyone who turns up after kick-off.

Turns out the David Sharp Centre won't be available that day, so subject to weather drinks and cake will have to be outside, possibly on a table near the bridge.
