The PTFA at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School have always worked extremely hard to organize fundraising events for the school and the Summer Fete last Saturday was no exception. Thanks also to the reliable support of the families and children, who turned out to buy cakes, raffle tickets and join in the various fundraising activities on the day, the PTFA took an extraordinary £2,060 on the day!

He could take someone's face out with that thing!

Space was the theme of the fancy dress competition and Fr. Louis Beasley-Suffolk was on hand to announce the winners.

Continuing the Space theme, both children and parents alike were startled on occasion to find a life-sized Dalek creeping up behind them!

Fortunately Daleks have a very limited field of view

The teachers had worked hard to teach the children some traditional country dances and the children put on an entertaining show. Class 3 teacher Mrs. Pidsley was enjoying herself so much, she couldn't resist joining in!

In the face! Outstanding work.

Headteacher Mr. McCormack was game for a laugh and took his turn in the stocks, where a queue of children happily paid to throw wet sponges!

£2000 is a very impressive amount of money!
It looks like it was a great event.
