Children from Our Lady's School Learn About Healthy Eating

Children from Years 3 and 4 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School in Wincanton recently visited their local Morrison's store to learn about healthy eating. They were given a guided tour around the bakery where they were shown how all the different sorts of loaves and rolls were made, in large enough quantities for all the shop's customers.

They were then shown the fish counter and the delicatessen where they learnt how important it is to keep fresh food at the correct temperature. They were also shown the rear storage area of the shop and experienced temperatures of over minus 20 degrees where some frozen foods are kept - after being in the heat of the bakery some of the children joked that it was like going from the dessert to the North Pole in one morning!

Our Lady's school would like to thank all the staff at Morrison's supermarket who showed the children around and made the visit so informative.
