Staff and residents at Carrington House have big plans to transform their garden and are appealing for green-fingered volunteers.

The Wincanton care home has recently applied to be part of St Margaret’s Hospice’s ‘Glorious Somerset Gardens’ scheme. The idea is for Carrington House to open their gardens to the general public, whilst raising money for the charity, St Margaret’s Hospice. Staff and residents at the home think this will be a lovely addition to their offering and will encourage more people to visit and see what life is like inside a care home, all the while supporting a most worthy cause.

In order to achieve this, Carrington House would like to work on their garden and are appealing for willing volunteers to support the project. Whether you’re a keen gardener or just have some time to spare, or you'd like to donate plants or garden accessories to the home; they would love to hear from you. Give them a call on 01963 32150.

“We’re really pleased to be supporting the ‘Glorious Somerset Gardens’ scheme with St Margaret’s Hospice. It’s really important to us to develop our gardens and involve the local community. Some of our residents are keen gardeners and it would be lovely to not only have some support with the garden, but to make some new friends too.”
