'Wincanton Winter' Christmas Competition

Has it really been a year since our last Christmas Competition? No champagne this year I'm afraid, but we do have some great prizes donated by local businesses.

The Competition - 'Wincanton Winter'

We want you to send us a wintry photograph from somewhere in the local area (it doesn't actually have to be in Wincanton; anywhere within our boundary area is fine). Photos can be of people, scenic views, buildings or animals; indoors or outdoors. Log fires, cosy pubs, frost-rimed windows, children bundled up in coats and scarves, winter sunsets over fields - you get the idea. Make us feel that chill factor!

How to Enter

  • You can submit up to two entries per person.
  • Attach your photos to an email to in jpg format and send them to Wincanton Window.
  • You MUST state a descriptive caption to go with your entry AND the location it was taken.
  • Tell us which category of the competition you are entering: Adult, Under 10 Years, or 11 - 16 Years.
  • Please provide your telephone number and postal address for us to contact you / forward your prize if you are a prize-winner.
Photographs will be judged on creativity, quality and originality and of course whether you made us turn the thermostat up a notch! The competition closes on Friday 15th December and we'll announce prize winners as soon as we can after that. Watch out for the Competition Gallery on the web site shortly afterwards where we'll display everyone's entries.

  • Competition closes 15 December 2011
  • Entries are restricted to one per person
  • Competition open to residents within Wincanton Window's publishing boundary only
  • Personal data will not be shared with third parties.
  • Winners will be decided after the closing date and the Organisers' decision is final
  • Entries that do not provide the full details requested will be discounted
  • Winners will be notified within 7 days of the closing date
