Trixie Hiscock Photography - A Challenge & An Eclectic Gallery!

Tuesday 15 January 2013, 14:29
By Trixie Hiscock

As a portrait photographer I have always loved to photograph people.

However, earlier in the year, I decided that I needed to stretch my abilities as a photographer and take myself out of my comfort zone. On 25 September, I set myself a personal challenge to join a band of fellow photographers on a website called 365 Project. By taking one photograph, every day, for one year, I plan to expand my photographic horizons and experiment out of the studio environment that I am so familiar with.

My passion for portraiture finds its way into the challenge now and again, but I am also discovering that I love to photograph other things. Whilst this project is proving quite a challenge time-wise the benefits are far outweighing the negatives - I am seeing every day "things" through new eyes, and I have to say, I LOVE it!

My daily uploads can be followed via our Camelot Photographic Ltd Facebook Page, and samples of my portrait work can be seen at my professional website, www.trixiehiscockphotography.co.uk. All images (excluding portraits) taken on my 365 Project are available to purchase as prints or canvas.

Congratulations on a super panel of images Trixie. So good to see you branching out. Like you I love doing portraits but the world surrounding us is also constantly fascinating. I hope these images will spur on others to contribute pictures to the Window's regular collection as Mandy has suggested.

Trixie took some superb professional shots of my Springer, Tara, one lovely frosty morning in a nearby field. The three photos I eventually chose and had framed from the 40-odd selection of proofs made a wonderful Christmas gift to my husband. The only problem was narrowing down my selection because they were all so good! But then as Trixie said, she knows she's done her job well when the client is weeping over the ones they leave behind!
