Wincanton Town Council Election 2011 Results

Our Town Council election results were released last Friday, 6th May, a little later than those of the District Council. Of 17 candidates 15 were successfully elected, including several new names. Here is a full table of the results:

WBT Congratulates all who have been elected to serve on the Town Council. WBT will continue to support and encourage you all as you seek to serve Wincanton.

Commiserations to those who were not elected. I'm sure that the people of Wincanton and we at WBT appreciate all your hard work on behalf of our town.

A Quick THANK YOU to all who voted for me by choice or even chance. I was very thrilled and honoured to be advised that I have been elected and will do my best to serve my fellow wincantonians.

Great to have had this election which has certainly stirred up interest and through the Window a level of participation we have not had before as hundreds have read the reports and commentson we have published. As the Localism Bill gets going as Colin Winder has pointed out, local views will be more heeded, so I hope there will be open forums to encourage wider participation in backing our town and community.
