Wincanton & District Gardeners Association volunteers planting the Town's flowerbeds for Summer 2021

Wincanton and District Gardeners Association, for many years, has been planting flowerbeds and containers around the Town twice a year to make it look more attractive.

This year once again a small band of happy gardeners planted the summer flowering plants in our town. Led by Mrs Inge Nicholls and helped by Colin Workman, Terry Graham, Richard D’Arcy, Chuck Downton, Phil Rodgers, Julie and Russell Eddington.

This is all done voluntarily, with financial assistance from Wincanton Town Council in the form of a grant each year to cover both Spring and Autumn plants.

WDGA has had to suspend all meetings and talks, and cancel two flower shows because of the recent pandemic. We are hoping to be able to restart our meetings in September with a social coffee morning and members' mini-show, once the committee has had a meeting to decide if this will be possible.

Our AGM is booked for Friday 1st October at 7pm in the Wincanton Memorial Hall and all are welcome. If you have become a gardener in these most different times please do come along and join us. Your membership has many extra benefits.

We look forward to becoming once again, a lively active group.

We very much appreciate your efforts to make our town centre as attractive and colourful as possible for us all to enjoy. It's keeping you all young!
