Somerset Waste Partnership will be removing the Bring Banks from the Memorial Hall car park and the Morrison's site shortly. The plastic bottle bank will remain at the Morrison site until facilities are in place to include plastic bottles with the kerbside collections. This is in line with the South Somerset District Council decision to reduce Bring Banks in the area.

The planning application for the erection of a Public House/Restaurant and associated works (revised application) at The Long Close site, Lawrence Hill was discussed at the Full Council Meeting and recommended for approval.

As recently advertised, there are now 5 Councillor vacancies. 10 residents have requested an election, which is due to take place in March 2010. If you are interested in standing for the election or would like to know more about the role and responsibilities of a Town Councillor, please come in and see us at the Town Hall or email me at
