Somerset Skills & Learning Award Presented in Wincanton

Learner of the Year Award winner Alexandra MillsThe annual Learner Award of the Year Award was recently presented to a local Somerset Skills & Learning learner Alexandra Mills at their Wincanton centre at King Arthur's Community School.

Despite having to overcome significant health difficulties Alexandra has recently achieved both her ECDL Extra Level 2 qualification and Certificate in Administration Level 2 Award and is currently studying for her Certificate in Administration Level 3. She has found her studies both a rewarding and enjoyable experience and has gained a lot of confidence with the help and support of the Business and IT tutor Kay Walker.

The local Wincanton Centre offers a full range of business and IT courses at every level for both beginners and for learners who wish to gain more advanced qualifications. All classes are taught in small friendly supportive groups with individual tuition.

The forthcoming programme includes:

Carry on Computing

November 21st 12.30pm – 2.30pm at King Arthur's School Wincanton.

A 5 week course following an earlier course, 'Introduction to Computers'. Build on your skills including word processing, file management, spreadsheets, presentations and using the internet.

Cost: £50, concessions £25.
