FORTHCOMING CHARITY EVENTS:

CIVIC SERVICE of THANKSGIVING

Wincanton Mayor, Richard D'ArcyFor some time I have felt Wincanton Town Council should host a Civic Service similar to that which other local Towns have done for many years.

As a result I am, with the help of others, in the process of organising a Civic Service of Thanksgiving. This will be held in the parish church of St Peter & St Paul Wincanton on Sunday 6th March 2011 at 3pm and is open to all denominations. As far as I am aware it will be the first Civic Service to be hosted by Wincanton Town Council.

It is hoped Civic Leaders from other towns will be able to join us, along with fellow Councillors and parishioners.

I believe we have many things to be thankful for, many of which we take for granted, within our community.

There will be a collection in aid of The Friends of Wincanton Community Hospital.

MAYORS CHARITY BALL

We are in the process of finalising details for a Mayors Charity Ball. This will take place on Saturday 16th April 2011 at the Memorial Hall Wincanton.

The evening will commence at 7pm and will include a Hot Buffet Dinner, Prize Casino, Silent Auction and dancing to Live Band, Alter Ego.

Tables of ten will form the layout and guests can either purchase individual tickets or generate a table of ten for which there is a concession.

All proceeds are in aid of The Friends of Wincanton Community Hospital.

Tickets can be obtained from:

Wincanton Town Council 01963 31693
