First Steps in Floristry - Flowers that bloom in the Spring

Tuesday 19 April 2011, 17:05
By Malcolm Tipper

A flower arrangement. Results may vary...Most people like flowers but we don't always know how to make the most of them. Help is at hand in the form of a First Steps in Floristry course.

Starting on Friday 6th May at the Balsam Centre, Wincanton, the course will run from 1.30pm to 3.30pm for five sessions.

For those with no or just a little experience this course will enable you to create a flower arrangement each week using simple floristry skills and techniques. The course will help in selecting appropriate low cost materials and how to cut and condition flowers as well as colour combinations. Seasonal spring flowers will be used as well as coverage of sustainable floristry. The course will cost £35 or for those for whom concessions apply it will be just £5. Tutor Lucille Ainsworth looks forward to starting First Steps and hopes it might lead to more advanced courses in the Autumn.
